About Lone Star Vending

Three generations, one East Texas territory.

The Goll family started Lone Star Vending in 1986. Forty years later it is still family operated, still run out of White Oak, and still covering the same part of Texas. Snack, drink, food and ice cream machines, micro markets, office coffee and water filtration, all on our own routes.

  • Family operated since 1986, three generations of the Goll family
  • Based at 125 Lone Star Pkwy, White Oak, Texas
  • Six service lines: markets, vending, coffee, pantry, filtration and water delivery

How we got here

Forty years in the same part of Texas.

The business has changed shape more than once. The territory and the family have not.

  1. 1986

1986. Walter and Reba Goll buy a vending route.

Walter retired from Coca-Cola, moved to Longview and bought the local Tom's Distributorship, which came with a small vending business. They ran it as Longview Snack Foods.

  2. 1988

1988. Scooter and Mary Goll push the territory out.

Walter and Reba's son Scooter moved to Longview with his wife Mary when the chance came to expand the territory. The second generation was in.

  3. 2011

2011. Josh Goll comes home from college.

Scooter and Mary's oldest son Josh finished school and joined the family business, which put three generations of Golls on the same company.

  4. 2014

2014. The AVS purchase, and a new name.

In October the family bought AVS Food Service from Tyler Beverages. The business tripled in size and took the name Lone Star Vending.

  5. Along the way

Along the way. Seven convenience stores.

Over seventeen years the family also ran seven convenience stores. That buying relationship still reaches a product line most vending distributors cannot, which is why a Lone Star market or pantry does not read like a vending catalog.

  6. Today

Today. The largest full-line vendor in East Texas.

Thirty-five people, 1,800 machines, thirty micro markets and more than 450 accounts, all serviced on our own routes out of White Oak.

What we are trying to do

The standard we hold ourselves to.

Our goal is to be the best vending company in East Texas. That means current, dependable equipment, stocked with national brand candy, snacks, pastries and drinks, and service that turns up when it is supposed to. Break time is short. If the machine is empty or down when your team walks in, the break is wasted and everyone in the building knows it. Keeping equipment full and working is the whole job. We treat our customers the way we would want our own family treated. You have a choice in vending providers. Service is what we would ask you to judge us on.

  • Current, dependable equipment rather than whatever is cheapest to place
  • National brand candy, snacks, pastries and drinks
  • Full and working when your team walks in on break
We own the equipmentEvery machine is ours rather than leased from the bottler. That is why the front of a drink machine can carry your logo and colors instead of a soda brand.
Our own routes and our own peopleThe driver who services your building works for us. They learn your dock, your hours and what your team actually buys.
Call and the office picks up903-758-8639 reaches White Oak. You get a person who can answer questions before you send anything over.
Every customer, the same standardOur motto has always been to treat every customer the same no matter the size difference. A twenty person office gets the same service as a plant with several hundred.

How we work

Four things we do the same way every time.

Modern Industrial Break Room

We come look at the room

Before anything gets quoted we walk the space, check power and the water line, and talk through what your team actually eats and drinks.

Refrigerated cooler stocked with salads, sandwiches, wraps, and yogurt parfaits

You approve the product list

The selection is built for your site. It changes based on what actually sells rather than staying fixed for a year.

Micro market wall with snack shelves, bulk bins, and a two-door refrigerated cooler

The market is built in your colors

Cabinetry in your colors with your logo, sized to the room you have. We do not put our name or the manufacturer's name on your market.

Compact modern office coffee bar

One vendor for the whole room

Markets, vending, coffee, water and pantry all come from us, on the same route and one phone number.

About the company

Questions about us, not the equipment.

Who runs Lone Star Vending?

The Goll family, now into a third generation. Walter and Reba Goll started the business in 1986. Their son Scooter and his wife Mary came in in 1988 to expand the territory, and Scooter and Mary's oldest son Josh joined in 2011 after college. It is still family operated out of White Oak.

Where are you based, and how far do you go?

We operate out of 125 Lone Star Pkwy in White Oak, Texas. The territory reaches as far west as Terrell, north to Mt. Pleasant and Texarkana, east to Marshall, and south along the Louisiana line through Lufkin and San Augustine down to Jasper. If you are near the edge of that, call and ask rather than assuming.

What does full-line vending mean?

It means we cover the whole room rather than one machine type. Snack, drink, food and ice cream machines, plus micro markets, office coffee, pantry service and water. One vendor, one route and one number for all of it.

What kinds of workplaces do you usually serve?

Offices from twenty employees, industrial plants running more than one shift, schools and medical facilities. Shift pattern usually matters more than industry when we spec a room.

Do we get the same people every time?

Yes. Our drivers work for us and cover consistent routes, so the person servicing your building learns it.

Do you lease your machines from the bottler?

No. We own every machine outright. That is what lets us wrap the front of a drink machine in your logo and colors instead of a soda brand, and it is why we are not limited to one bottler's product line.
